DIGI YOUTH ARTS X THE BUTTERY MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP


Digi Youth Arts and The Buttery Music School have teamed up to provide free music lessons to First Nations Youth based in Meanjin via our new Buttery X Digi Youth Music Scholarship Program!

Our first scholarship took place in term 2, 2024 when we provided 10 weeks of weekly music lessons to two young legends in term 2, 2024. Look out for more scholarships opening up in 2025!

Scholarship space 1 -  Is for a little one aged 5 to 7 years old to join in the Little Rockers program, which is a 30 minute weekly music program in a small group (max 4 students per group) where you adventure in melody and rhythm through games and playing on a bunch of different instruments.

Scholarship 2 - weekly 45 minute 1 on 1 lessons for someone aged 8 to 25 years old. You have a choice to learn any of the following: guitar, drums, vocals, bass guitar, keys, songwriting

When do the lessons take place? Afternoons during school terms

Where do lessons take place? The Buttery Music School, 217 MacArthur Avenue, Hamilton. 

How do I enter? When applications open, we will provide a link for you to apply by letting us know in 50 words or less why you would love to learn an instrument and how you would use your new skill. 

Who can enter? Any First Nations Youth aged 5 to 25 years old who is able to attend weekly lessons at The Buttery’s studios in Hamilton.  No musical experience is necessary!

When do entries open/ close? Keep an eye on this site and our Instagram for upcoming dates.  You will be contacted via email if you have received the scholarship, and we will then be in touch to organise a lesson time that works for you.

Media Consent: At the final lesson of the term, we will have a videographer come along to film you in your lesson, rocking what you have been working on throughout the term! This video will be shown on The Buttery Music School and Digi Youth Arts social media and websites.
