Music Production Lessons Brisbane
We provide a year-long production course which is designed to take students aged 11 to adult in groups of 4 from beginner to confident producer in a fun, hands-on environment. Using drum machines, synths, and DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), students will learn essential skills in beat-making, recording, sound design, and songwriting. The course is structured to build skills progressively, with each term focusing on a specific area of music production. By the end, students will have created original tracks, collaborated on group projects, and performed or showcased their work.
We also provide tailored 1 on 1 music production courses for people who are seeking learning about particular aspects of production, or have written music that they want to take further.

45 minute weekly group lessons (max 4 people, recommended for beginners) - $41

The Group Music Production Course for Beginners:
Term 1: Drum Machines, Beat-Making & Intro to DAWs
Learn rhythm theory and create beats using drum machines.
Explore how to lay beats into a DAW, arrange loops, and edit patterns.

Term 2: Live Recording & Multi-Tracking in DAWs

In the group lesson adventures for student under 15, The Buttery has developed a Karate Belt system for students to adventure through as they progress through the curriculum. When you first sign up, you will receive a white coloured wrist band in your induction pack. When you complete level 1, you will LEVEL UP and receive a yellow wrist band. Level 2 brings a green wristband, and so on until you reach level 9 and receive the almighty black wristband.

Learn to compose, record, and produce using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Logic Pro or Ableton. Explore MIDI programming, audio editing, and the use of samplers, synthesizers, and effects to bring your ideas to life.
2. Analog Music Production & Programming
Master hardware instruments such as synthesizers and drum machines for composition and recording. Integrate analog gear into modern setups, learn sound design, and create polished tracks using professional mixing and mastering techniques.
3. Home Recording
Build and optimize your home studio with consumer-level gear. Gain hands-on skills in recording vocals, instruments, and MIDI while arranging and producing tracks in a DAW. Learn soundproofing, monitoring, and capturing emotional performances.
4. Analog Electronic Music Performance
Develop skills for live performance with synthesizers, drum machines, and effects pedals. Sync hardware with computers, arrange live sets, and improvise while maintaining control over sound and mixing in real-time.

JED WALTERS
Jed Walters, a multi-instrumentalist based in Brisbane, specialises in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and music production. Graduating from Queensland Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Popular Music (Class I Honours), Jed’s musical journey is defined by over a decade of performing and recording with numerous acts, including his current darkwave project Chiffon Magnifique. Beyond his own performances, he derives genuine fulfillment from guiding aspiring musicians as a teacher, fostering their passion for music in a supportive and encouraging environment.
